I would like to agree with two of the other reviews here

First - an up front caveat: I have an older edition than the third edition (2013) pictured here. However, I would like to agree with two of the other reviews here. I am teaching Environmental Chemistry and trying to use this book as source material. Unfortunately the number of errors in my edition is so high that I spend a lot of time back checking and verifying information. Most of the errors are ridiculous and typographic although it would take an editor with a scientific background to detect them. Therefore, while I *hope* that these have been corrected in the updated version, the error and misinformation frequency is higher than I have seen. It seems odd to have to use the phrase "some of the information is good" when you are talking about a textbook! The exclusive use of black and white images is also causing problems - there are, after all - only so many shades in between...

Good overview of the subject

The book covers many topics associated with environmental chemistry, however it is printed in black and white which makes some of the pictures and figures appear bland, and the print is a little small. or maybe not dark enough. While most of the information is accurate, there is some room for improvement however (e.g. some chemical equations are not balanced correctly, section on photochemical smog fails to mention that VOC emissions also contribute to the formation of ground level ozone). In general, this is a pretty good text for an overview of environmental chemistry.
